Registering as a Citizen enables to post, but also to create a custom profile and gives all sorts of benefits such as copying and pasting without restriction everywhere on the website, posting articles, having access to secret places ...

You may also use avatars (images that represent you) and the private messages.

To register, click on "Inscription" at the top of the forum. Choose an identier, a password that you will have to confirm from your email sent to the address you give. Know that the First Pontiff (administrator) does not see your password - it is crypted even for him. However, remain careful in all circumstances and do not provide a password like "My Visa Card code is 2354".

You will receive an email within one to three minutes after registering. Click on the link or paste it in the address bar of your browser. This is enough to confirm your registration while confirming your existence to the First Pontiff at the same time.

After registering, you must identify in the forum through the button "identify" in the top menu (of the forum). Just type in your identifier and password.

You can also choose to be identified for a time period:

"24 hours","30 days","1 year","Up to 2010" : Your identification will remain valid up to the point you chose and you won't have to identify until then. For your identification to work, you must accept cookies! They are absolutely nonintrusive and only serve to check your identifier and password.

If you loose your password, go to "Identify" and click on "Lost password". Enter your identier and email address. If they correspond, your password will be sent to your email.

To disconnect, on the forum main page, click on "Disconnection".

When you click on "Profile", you have access to your administration environment. You may choose to:

• "Profile": Modify your account :
  - e-mail: modify it. Make sure the address is valid.
  - ICQ : Add your ICQ number if you have one.
  - Website : if you have a website, you may link to it from the Forum and let others know about it.
  - Make email visible : enables others to see your email address or hide it.
  - Make ICQ visible : Enbables other members to add you to their ICQ contact list.
  - Make your website visible: Enables others to have access to your website.
  - Your time zone : You may choose the appropriate time zone which will show on your posts.
  - Citation : A short phrase that describes you. It will show below your name with your posts.
  - Signature : You may customize a signature that will accompany your messages.
  - Logo : You can if you wish add a logo that will show with your profile.
  - Modify a password : If you want to, you can change your password.

  The above list takes effect immediately after confirming the information and extends to past messages. No history is kept on Nostradamia.

• "Private messages": This is like an email address except you don't have to let others know your email address. It is confined to Nostradamia. Your private messages are kept there until you erase them.

• "Customize": This part enables you to customize the appearance of your forum. You can choose a predefined "skin" or make up your own to suit your own tastes.

Posting a message is straightforward. If your topic is not in the list, choose "New Topic". It will be placed in first position. If the topic already exists, choose "Answer". Your message will be place right below the first message on the list.

You can also choose to quote by clicking on "Quote".

As you answer you have a choice of filling in the topic box - or mandatory.

Next, you may want to add a smiley to give your feeling...

Next comes the message. Just type in the text. The number of characters is limited at this point to 10 000. This is very long, make sure it's worth it. Such a lengthy message will probably be reposted with articles.

HTML is forbidden in the messages, but the bottom buttons enable you to replace the main HTML instructions:

• "e-mail" : Allows you to insert an email address, which is "mailto:" in HTML
• "image" : Inserts an image (jpg or gif) located at a specific Internet address. Size and volume are limited.
• "flash" : Inserts a flash animation. You should enter the parameters!
• "bold" : converts the selected text in bold
• "italic" : converts the selected text in italics
• "code" : adds programming code (but what for?)
• "quote" : renders a quotation format.

Creating a link is automatic. Just start your message with http://, ftp://, https:// ou directement www.. A space must precede and follow the address. Or you may start at the beginning of a line.

You can modify a message that you have posted. Just click on the "Edit" button at the bottom right of the message. Here are a few rules to follow:

• Modify only your own messages
• Be identified as a Citizen
• Only mofiy if no posts have been added below.

First left, then from left to right:

• Identifier of the person who posted
• His quotation
• His logo
• The time this person has been a Citizen
• How many messages this person has posted since a Citizen.
