This section reviews the symbols used by the prophet in the Centuries. Some are similar to those found in the Bible. The criteria for regrouping the quatrains are based on some identified keywords.
Women
City, woman, church, the word woman takes several meanings.
1.88 Woman
"The divine wrath overtakes the great Prince,"
a short while before he will marry.
Both supporters and credit will suddenly diminish.
"Counsel, he will die because of the shaven heads."
10.35 Woman, Temple
The younger son of the king flagrant in burning lust
To enjoy his first cousin:
"Female attire in the Temple of Artemis,"
Going to be murdered by the unknown one of Maine.
6.72 Emotion faked
Through feigned fury of divine emotion
The wife of the great one will be violated:
"The judges wishing to condemn such a doctrine,"
She is sacrificed a victim to the ignorant people.
A6700 Illness of women
Death, illness to young women, colds
From had to eyes, hail merchants of the earth,
From sea ?, badly hemmed, wine in fog,
Oil bow, too much rain, the war destroys the crops.
1.41 Poison, writing, and whores
The city is besieged and assaulted by night;
few have escaped; a battle not far from the sea.
"A woman faints with joy at the return of her son,"
poison in the folds of the hidden letters.
4.57 Writing
"Ignorant envy upheld before the great King,"
He will propose forbidding the writings:
"His wife not his wife tempted by another,"
Twice two more neither skill nor cries.
9.52 France - before the Great Conflict
"Peace is nigh on one side, and war,"
Never was the pursuit of it so great:
"To bemoan men, women innocent blood on the land,"
And this will be throughout all France.
4.54 English, trembling
Of the name which no Gallic King ever had
"Never was there so fearful a thunderbolt,"
"Italy, Spain and the English trembling,"
Very attentive to a woman and foreigners.
10.9 Woman revolting
In the Castle of Figueras on a misty day
A sovereign prince will be born of an infamous woman:
"Surname of breeches on the ground will make him posthumous,"
Never was there a King so very bad in his province.
8.13 Crusading brothers
The crusader brother through impassioned love
will cause Bellerophon to die through Proteus;
"the fleet for a thousand years, the maddened woman,"
"the potion drunk, both of them then die."
A6608 Salvating rains, women out of danger
Rains very excessive, and of blessings abundance,
The cattle price to be just, women outside of danger:
Hail, rain, thunder: people depressed in France,
Through death they will work, death to reprove people.
A6303 Great - monster
Fathers and mothers dead of infinite sorrows,
Women in mourning, the pestilent she-monster:
The Great One to be no more, all the world to end,
Under peace, repose and every single one in opposition.
H068 Pregnant women
For hereupon the principal Eastern chief will be vanquished by the Northerners and Westerners, and most of his people, stirred up, will be put to death, overwhelmed or scattered. His children, offspring of many women, will be imprisoned. Then will be accomplished the prophecy of the Royal Prophet, Let him hear the groaning of the captives, that he might deliver the children of those doomed to die.
3.28 Empire woman
"Of land weak and parentage poor,"
Through piece and peace he will attain to the empire.
"For a long time a young female to reign,"
Never has one so bad come upon the kingdom.
9.52 France - The Great Conflict

8.63 Child to strangle / choke
When the adulterer wounded without a blow
will have murdered his wife and son out of spite;
"his wife knocked down, he will strangle the child;"
"eight captives taken, choked beyond help."
