There are 3 antichrists in the Centuries. The first is not identified, and it may refer to a Roman emperor. Protestants of Geneva held a theory at the time of the writing that Trojan had been an Antichrist. But the truth is that the emperor was comparatively tolerant towards foreign religions. The second Antichrist is an activist revolutionary of the 18th Century that persecuted the clergy. The 3rd will come from Iran and will involve China.

There must be a first antichrist because a second and third are mentioned. But no quatrains refer directly to it.

Note that in French, the Antichrist is Antéchrist. Ante, just like in Spanish means before. Thus, the term antichrist could refer to an evil person that by his wrong doings prepares the place for the avenger, the Christ. Isn't it a fact that all the madmen such as serial killers say that an outside voice dictates their misdoings and that they act in the name of God?

Plancus was a Roman who lived and operated in the surrounding of the city of Grenoble around the year -44. Nostradamus may refer to some future event too.
