The Antichrist
in the Nostradamus Centuries

Contrarily to what is often heard, Nostradamus
does not count Hitler among the 3 Antichrists that he mentions in the Centuries,
and it is not an error. This monster would better meet the criterion of an
“Antijew”, which is in no way more enviable. The 16th Century
definition of an Antichrist as given by the first French dictionary (Nicot-1694)
goes as follows:
"Antichrist (Page 189)
Opposed to Jesus Christ, enemy of Jesus-Christ. It is said in the holy writing
that at the time of the Apostles, there were several Antichrists. It holds
the particular meaning of a seductor enemy of the true Religion, which according
to the common opinion will come in the last times. The time of the coming
of the Antichrist is uncertain. The false miracles of the Antichrist."

While referring to the French revolution
in the Letter to Henry, the seer condemns the events that will take place
and gives some decisive precisions on the second Antichrist identity.
H089
& will be the commencement that includes what is to endure & starting
that year the greatest Christian Church persecution that has ever taken
place (even) in Africa, & this to last up to the year 1792, which will
be thought to mark the renewal of a century.

In some aspects, the accuracy of the oracle
is astonishing. The conversion of the Christian year of 1792 into year 1 of
the revolutionary calendar, which was considered to mark a new century, leaves
very little doubt on the interpretation. But in this gibberish, all the time
indications are intermingled: “commencement, includes, endure, starting,
will last up to”. It makes it nearly impossible to guess the precise
date ahead of the events, and only the year stands out next to the description
of the church persecution. Nevertheless, a reasonable doubt should be kept
in mind with regards to the meaning.
It is because of the instatement of a Terror
government, and in particular because of the clergy extermination that started
that year, that Nostradamus refers to Robespierre as an antichrist. This head
of state revealed himself as a ferocious persecutor of the Christian Church,
and he employed his two years in power to behead the French clergy and most
of the country’s elite, 40000 in total. And this took place to a greater
extent than anything ever imagined before about Africa. The African continent
was believed during the 16th Century exploratory period to be populated with
savages that did not respect the Christian religion, thus justifying slavery.

And in these times & regions, the infernal powers will instate against
the Church of Jesus Christ the opponents of its laws; And this will constitute
the second Antichrist, who will persecute this Church and its true Vicar
by the means of the temporal kings power, who will in their ignorance be
seduced by the speeches that will cut sharper than any sword in the hands
of the insensible.

The reign of the second Antichrist started
with Robespierre and went on with the “Black Prince”. Napoleon
is dear in the heart of many French people, but he isn’t to Nostradamus
who refers to him as a butcher:
(1-60).
An Emperor will be born near Italy,
Who will obtain the Empire very dearly.
They will say of him and the ones he allies,
To be found less of a prince than a butcher.
Vn Empereur naistra pres d’Italie,
Qui a l’Empire sera vendu bien cher,
Diront auecques quels gens il se ralie
Qu’on trouuera moins prince que boucher.
Napoleon acted with cruelty and without
the legitimacy of the people or an inherited crown. It is true that he obtained
3.6 million votes during some faked elections, but this was not for him to
claim the title of an emperor. He spent his life like Attila and died of poisoning
like a Roman Republic dictator. It is ironic that he remains an every moment
reference for the elected demagogue French presidents of the 5th Republic.
This is what Nostradamus refers to as he mentions the "temporal kings
who will in their ignorance be seduced by the speeches that cut sharper than
a sword in the hands of the insensible."

The aforementioned reign of the Antichrist will last only until the coming
of the one born at the beginning of the (new) age & as for the other
at the city of Plancus (Grenoble), associated with the elected one of the
House of Modena Fulcy, through Ferrare, maintained by the Adriatic Ligurians,
& the proximity of great Tinacry.

This part is reassuring. It reveals that
the reign of the Antichrist will not last forever. And it is easily noticed
that today’s France has not yet recovered from its journey into chaos.
The abominable Satan of the French history continues its destructive works
as it strikes at the shadiest times and hides while waiting for the first
occasion to submit the country to an evil temptation. The temporal kings of
the revolutionary period are still at work nowadays in France.
The reign of the second Antichrist is coming
to an end, but the third personified antichrist will be worse than the second
one. Let’s pray that there will not be a 4th. Nostradamus calls for
resistance. It is the same cry that emanates from Saint John in the Bible
Revelations.
To finish with this description, the Antichrist
must not be mistaken with the other demons of history, for they are numerous.
Also, a difference should be made between the Era of the Antichrist that has
been lasting ever since the French revolution without stop, and the embodied
antichrists, persecutors of the Christian religion that are 3 in total number.
With this definition, many will find their place next to the Antichrist. The
Biblical prophecy foretells some divisions that will oppose a brother against
his sister and a father against his child inside a same household. The Christ
on his day will take one and leave the other one.
And to be even more precise, it is not stated
in the prophecy that the French royalists are not on the same side as the
Antichrist. This is where resides the major ambiguity of the H089 section.
Nostradamus foretells the ultimate extinction of the French Bourbons dynasty
that still demonstrates nowadays its annoying incapacity to govern a great
country, and even less so the world (see the theme of the crown legitimacy).
After the demagogue elected temporal kings, will come the reign of the Lamb
and his God appointed ministers – not the comeback of a dynasty intoxicated with its own ego that never defended anything but its personal
interest. The French aristocratic class of lazy nobles is the one that pushed
the country into chaos in the first place, and then from one catastrophe to the next.
In modern terms, we could conceive of a
great world leader that will introduce a new form of government while maintaining
justice and durable peace for all men and women of good will in all nations.
This cannot mean that borders will be closed. And this form of government
of a new type is described in one of the many Biblical prophecies. (Refer
